The Ultra-Class Workshop Expansion was the second MIA expansion completed by Hawkins Group, after building the original MIA.

Hawkins Group were engaged to design and construct the second Ultra Class Workshop in 2018, this consisted of a new workshop bay and jacking apron, inclusive of gantry crane rail extension, lubricant reticulation and dispensing, compressed air, power and water services.

Hawkins Group also fabricated the structural steel, lubricant stands and miscellaneous steel.

These works were carried out whilst ensuring the continued operation of the adjacent Ultra-Class Bay.
